English Speaking Classes in Canberra
We offer the following education development options in General Education for Adults in our program called "Learning On the Move":
- Certificate II in General Education for Adults*

- Certificate III in General Education for Adults*
These courses are affectionately known as "Learning On the Move", as this best describes the participant's learning throughout the courses. They are offered to people in Canberra, of whom English is their second language, to further their English and communication skills.
The Canberra-based English courses focus on written and oral communication and provide excellent opportunities for extensive analysing and problem solving in relation to numeracy and literacy within the English language.
Participants also attend excursions throughout the courses to many of Canberra's historic landmarks such as the National Museum of Australia, Parliament House and the National Art Gallery.
The General Education for Adults courses provide an excellent opportunity to meet and network with new people as participants share many stories and cultural traditions with others, as well as researching and learning about new ideas and approaches that they may not have been familiar with.
The general duration of these courses is approximately 12 weeks or 198 hours, with study timetables designed to coincide with school hours and school holidays.
*Courses are available to ACT and NSW residents.
Flexible learning and support ensure our courses are achievable in the desired timeframes.
The qualifications are funded by Fee for Service (FFS) or the Department of Education, Science and Training through New Apprenticeship Arrangements for New and Existing Workers, as well as Strategic Priorities Programs (SPP).
