What is the Southside Pantry?
Southside Pantry - operated by Southside Community Services Inc - is a small community food outlet for people with a genuine need or those who are on a limited income.
The food is provided by supermarket chains and numerous food manufacturers through FoodBank NSW.
Who May Use Southside Pantry?
Southside Pantry is available to any client of SouthSide Community Services who may be deemed to be in need of extra support or assistance.
That is; HACC clients, Childcare Centre families, young people or other clients of Southside Community Services.
It is also available to clients of other community support services such as Woden Community Services, Winnunga Medical Services etc. or to those who “walk-in” requesting assistance.
How can the Southside Pantry be Accessed?
To access the program eligible clients need to be referred by a Case Manager or Community Service Provider and provided with a referral form.
Eligible clients will come to the Southside Pantry office, present their referral and will be offered their choice of products available.
Clients who “walk-in” directly, without a referral form will be requested to complete a “self-referral” and if they walk in outside opening hours, they will be requested to return during opening hours
How Much Does It Cost?
There is no fixed charge for this service. However in order to cover transport and administration costs a donation would be appreciated.
