Southside Community Services
Southside Community Services is a community based, not-for-profit, non-Government organisation that has been providing a wide range of services to families and individuals living in the local area and wider ACT for more than 20 years.
The organisation manages and delivers a range of community services including community development, family support services, training services, children’s services and aged care and disability services. Services are designed to meet community needs.
These services are partly or wholly funded by the Commonwealth and ACT Government grants, client contributions and donations.
The main objectives of Southside Community Services are the relief of poverty, distress, sickness, suffering and destitution in the ACT community.
Inner South Canberra Community Asset and Skills Audit
We live in a community that is rich and diverse in terms of its environment, its liveability and the government, community and commercial services on offer. The skills, interests and work experiences of its residents are equally rich and diverse. We really have a lot that we can offer one another.
Southside Community Services Inc (SCS) is conducting this survey to get a better picture of our community’s strengths and to work out what we can do to support and enable local residents to engage more strongly in their local community for the benefit of us all. The survey will give us a clearer picture of the skills, knowledge and experience that local people have, and which they may be willing to share with others in the community. It will also tell us what local people like about the community, and what they would most like to change.
